Born in Germany, Magdeburg but since 1950 lives in Ukraine, Kharkiv.

Born in Magdeburg in 1946, and since 1950 he lives in Kharkiv.
In 1964 he graduated from school with a gold medal.
He studied at the Aerospace University "KHAI" (1964-1971), he worked in the space industry.
He is a National master of chess composition.
He composes studies and problems.
He published his first problem in 1969 and his first endgame study in 1973.
He is three-time prize-winner of personal Ukrainian championships in studies.
In the 1984-1992, as part of the Ukrainian team, he was the champion and twice the prize-winner of the all-Union team championships.
Bronz medal winner at the FIDE Olympic Tournament in composing 2016 (moremovers).
Silver medal winner of the 10WCCT in the Ukrainian team (threemovers).
Since 1986 - he is member of the Ukrainian Commission for Chess Composition, chairman of the Commission on the chess composition of the Kharkiv region.
From 1982 to 2006 he led chess columns in local newspapers.
His creative credo: "In the study I appreciate the harmony of form and content, a full-fledged completed plot (introduction-intrigue-finale), moves-pointes.
I especially appreciate study-finds. Ideally, the study should be remembered".
